'Solo' was created using Pianola Rolls, and Stonehenge paper on raw unprimed canvas. The perforations in the Pianola rolls suggest delicate falling snow. With the black dots tracing mountain ranges in an abstract manner. The use of cool and warm white oblongs of the Stonehenge paper are an abstraction employed to suggest the weight of heavy snowfalls.
The 7-9B pencil drawing of the Deer's face is slightly blurred. Capturing the feel of the Deer's breath billowing out into the freezing temperatures.
The overall appearance of the work creates a physical and psychological layered affect. The title 'Solo' denotes the autonomous power of the Deer.
